The song "You're Sixteen" is about a beautiful girl whom the singer is in love with, was the second solo project by Ringo Starr to reach #1 ("Photograph" is the first, and remains one of his most fondly remembered hits). The song was written by the Sherman Brothers, who are famous for writing theDisney classics"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" and "It's A Small World." The first recording of the song was by Johnny Burnette in 1960, who hit #8 in the US with his version, which was featured in the 1973 movie American Grafitti.
